Good Shepherd Preschool was founded in 1974 to serve the needs of children. Our teachers are Christians who are dedicated to God and their profession. The early years are the important years for children. It is during this time that values are determined; your child will receive guidance in setting good values here at Good Shepherd Preschool. These are also the years that learning is occurring at a rapid rate. Your child will be encouraged to develop a love for learning. |

The daily program at Good Shepherd Preschool is designed to provide for the total education of the child--emotionally, socially, physically, academically (in a limited sense), creatively, and spiritually. The curriculum in our program is varied. There are traces of every discipline. Special materials are used for language development, reading readiness, and number concepts. Equipment for developing large muscle skills and manipulative toys to develop fine muscle control are used extensively. Music, art, and story time are also important parts of our program. The child is the key individual in the program. There are opportunities to build new and deeper understandings, work with material that stimulate and challenge thinking, encourage investigation, ask questions, infer and generalize, and opportunities to be self-selective and self-directive in their activities. Children at Good Shepherd experience these different activities every day. Class schedules are flexible and subject to change in order to meet the needs of the children. |
Preschool Only: |
The Preschool program is from 9:00 a.m. to 12:00 noon, Monday through Friday, September to May. |
Preschool, School Age Program, and Daycare: |
Before and After School Care for school age children, with drop off and pickup service from Thomas Edison Elementary School. |
